Tara Fouts serves as Project Coordinator for the Valley County Opioid Response Project (VCORP) as part of the HRSA Rural Communities Opioid Response Program-Planning grant. Ms. Fouts is a Health Education Specialist, Senior for Central District Health Department where she also works on the Drug Overdose Prevention Program and Healthy Store Initiative. Over the years she has participated in workgroups dedicated to addressing the opioid crisis, including the Idaho Statewide Opioid Misuse and Overdose Strategic Planning workgroup. Ms. Fouts is currently working on her Master of Health Science with an emphasis in Health Promotion at Boise State University. In the MHS program, Ms. Fouts and a small group of graduate students collaborated with the Idaho Office of Drug Policy to survey controlled substance prescribers’ attitudes regarding potential Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) policy. She is passionate about public health and is an active member of the Idaho Public Health Association.
