Krystal Grimes is the Resilience Director for Bastrop County Cares, focusing on an initiative to build upon the mental health, well-being and resilience of Bastrop County. As the Resilience Director, Krystal is tasked with the coordination of the Resilient Bastrop Initiative. This work has begun planning and engagement to understand the needs of faith communities, microcommunities, youth, and veterans of the Bastrop County area. Krystal’s life mission is to serve as an advocate and change agent for children, teens, and their families through education and mental health. In her current work as a counselor and resilience professional, she is looking to improve the experiences of historically excluded individuals and their communities. Krystal is also a single mother of two young men and interns part-time at the local Children’s Advocacy Center.
